Sprayed Colour Concrete Finishes

Liquid Tile Cairns are suppliers and applicators of Cobblestone Products. For exterior work we use and recommend Covacrete, a polymer modified concrete compound that is coloured using a premium oxide colour base. Covacrete enables us to provide many finished textures with an extensive range of colour combinations to provide exactly the finish you require.

How Do We Achieve Sprayed Colour Concrete Finishes?

To achieve these finishes a base layer of Covacrete is trowelled onto the prepared concrete surface. This provides the colour for the pattern, also levels the surface of the concrete as well as being a highly effective primer for the slab. Fibre strengthened tapes or stencils are then laid on the base coat to create the required pattern.

Another coat is then applied with a specialised spray gun applying the compound over the base layer and the pattern. We then apply a fine mist of a third and sometimes a fourth colour to produce the desired effect.

The tapes or stencil are then lifted to expose the base colour and the finished job is coated with two layers of acrylic sealer.

How Can We Customise A Finish?

There can be many modifications in this process such as trowelling the “Tile” coat to achieve a different effect. Also, during the spraying process the finished surface can be made coarser or smoother as requested by the client for different applications. This can include creating an skid-resistant surface in wet areas such as pool surrounds.
